...You've got to try the demo version of this new sizing software offered as a Photoshop plug-in from Extensis software called "pxl SmartScale". The website is as follows:

I downloaded the demo, installed it, and it is right where it should be. Did you go to File > Automate? It appears above Fred's plugins that I have installed.

When you download it, it will look to save it as a plugin in PS. You should see it as a separate menu item, just to the left of "Window", under the name of "Extensis".
I used this yesterday to try 2 prints - a 16x20 and a 13x27 panorama. It did a very nice job of scaling, but I can't really tell much, if any, difference between this and Fred's SI action. It does have more options, and to be honest the best feature was the preset sizes.
In other words, it's good, but not close to $200 worth of good.
I tried to scale a 12x18x300 to 44x55x300 and it failed (said it ran out of memory.) I have 1 GB ram on my machine.
I submitted a inquiry to thier tech support two days ago, but they have not replied. Either they are super busy or don't have very good technical support.
Why should you even want this -- there's so many ways to do this already EASILY.
If you guys want to contribute to charity -- instead of spending 200 USD for this stuff just put 10 USD in KYLE'S BEER FUND. --- You will have saved 190 USD and paid for a good cause as well.
Geez, just played with it again on a couple of photos I know are a torture test for upsizing. It's positively worthless...Genuine Fractals at twice the price? (Actually, GF isn't bad if you're trying to make a 640x480 into something to print at 4"x6", but why would someone on a Canon dSLR forum care?)
Bicubic seems to be fine for up to a 3:1 or so upres, stair interpolation (successive 10% changes) seems to make a difference in the extremes, and particularly when downscaling some pictures, but the vector interpolation in Qimage rules, but it takes some time to appreciate all you can do with that software.
This thing? TOTAL CRAP.
