I'd be suprised if they didn't offer some form of upgrade for the 1Ds MkII possibly to n standard. I also feel that if there's going to be a camera upgrade, the 20D replacement will likely be it. I doubt they'll call it a 35D though, It'll be a flat 30D most likely.
From what I've seen so far, usually one or two lenses are announced with the release of a new camera. I have no idea what to expect, but it'll probably two new lenses. If it's a 20D replacement, then a new EF-S lens will likely be released, and to empasise their commitment to full frame sensors as well, they'll likely release something for it. We haven't had decent L series primes for a while. I'd like to see something along the lines of a 50mm f/1.0L again, but that's probably wishful thinking.
I would bet on a 1Ds mk2N, same thing as the 1Ds mk2 but with larger LCD and minor improvements. A longshot would be a 1Ds mk2N or mk3 with more megapixels. That would bascialy again, slow down MFDB sales. Maybe they know the camera exists and that exlplains the quick move to 39mp to manntain some marketing separation.
Also, I would expect to see a 3D, basically a 20d replacement. Maybe it would be called a 30d? But id bet on 3d or 7d. Could be that the 3d is a different camera, a 5D on a 1D body who knows.
Sometimes I wouldn't mind it. It'd give more choice if using AF. ie, if you're at a tennis match, and the shot you want is a sharp picture of the players face, in a diving sort of possition, you can set it to be more precise. I'm sure there's better reasons for it, but sometimes it's just the way it is.
Or for me, if I'm shooting birds (photo's, not guns) My outer focus points are too far out, and may cause problems if my lens is not long enough to fill the entire frame, but the central point focus' on its legs... That's no good for me.
Canon WA primes are due for update. 24mm f/2.8 is 16 years old design. 20mm sucks. There is a dire need to release fast EF-S WA primes, too (15mm f/2.8 EF-S and 21mm f/2 EF-S would make me whip out my credit card, as would EF-S 32mm f/1.4). 16-55mm f/2.8 EF-S zoom would hit the spot, too.
I also would guess that it will be a 20D replacement and 1 or 2 crappy to mediocre wide-range zooms. Regardless, my 1Ds MK II's will not take worse quality images than they did last year.

I'll buy that full frame 1dMKII and never have to buy another camera. Thank God. It will finally be over. No more agonizing decisions.
as for a full frame 7D, to me the 5D is already a full frame 7N - it certainly isn't a digital equivalent of the EOS 3 in either build quality or ergonomics.
I'd like to see a full frame digital version of the EOS 3
I'm looking into my magic ball and I the replacement for the 1D2n and 1Ds2 to be one full frame, 8fps,16mp, ability for in camera crop to 1.6. The camera will be slightly smaller and lighter than the current models using a lighter more efficient and lighter battery. Fully weather sealed, with a LCD display the size and resolution of the current 1D2n. I predict that the camera will sell in the $6-$7K range. Oh wait my magic crystal ball is fading but I see a anouncement date.....oh no, not until September of this year and not available until November, and oh yes the stupid crystal ball is telling me I will never be able to afford one.
