No the 28-105 that were all talking about is the f/3.5-4.5 II USM version, its quite well built, has a metal lens mount and a focus ring (Unlike the cheaper 28-105 which you need to turn the front of the lens to manual focus).

How I wish canon would make a 28-105 equivalent for 1.6x cameras. What's wrong with them? We're stuck with the dog 18-55 or the expensive 17-85.
couldnt agree more, came from the 28-105 4-5.6 (crap version) and have had the hardest choise finding a lens that fits well and im ending up with the 17-85
This is a strange lens I came across, Its a EF 38-76mm f/4.5-5.6
What a odd focal length
well its a 2 times zoom factor. maybe that has something to do with it?
A true sleeper is the EF 28-70 f3.5-4.5 II, like in the photozone.de review, it's a very good lens, if you don't need f2.8 and want a light lens. I bought it for just 38 euro :-).
