Very pretty girl...was there some processing done to her eyes though because they seem excessively sharpy/contrasty/something...not sure what. In any case, I like it. Nice shot.

I assume that you erased the gaussian blur around her eyes to keep them sharp and the focus of the photo. Also, I assume you increased the contrast to them as well?

I really like this shot. I keep looking at my shot for this week, then at yours, and you really know how to add that something extra, very nice, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful! I am so drawn to the picture. I just want to keep looking at it. I love the effect you've used to make the eyes really pop while the rest of her facial features are very soft kept soft. It looks like she's staring right at me, even though it's just a two-demensinol picture.
I'm totally new to this whole photography thing. Would you mind telling me exactly what you did to create that picture? I would really like to try to see if I can re-create it. Thank you for your help.

thanks so much for the great feedback!
i was semi-without internet access for a day or two, so i haven't been able to check back. i resized the image, hopefully it is satisfactory now.
in terms of what i did, here's the simplified breakdown:
i used the 85/1.8 on my 20d, and it was opened all the way, which accounts for most of the blur (and gorgeous bokeh, i might add). from there i did minimal sharpening of the eyes, then used a whole long process for making the photo black and white with "pop."
thanks again for the great feedback. and yes, the john mayer line works all too well for the picture, the theme and this girl's signifiance in my life.
