i'm not wild about the eyecup anyway. i'm just in it for the magnification. i'd worry it might poke me in the eye if i bring up the camera to my eye quickly on the street.
i tried taking my glasses off and it's a night and day difference. maybe i should join the rest of you and ditch them while shooting.
I made my version today
all the same parts except for the cup
since the one listed was discontinued according to my dealer
I spent about an hour with my dremmel and a cylindrical grinder
first i grinded down the threads on the magnifier then grinded down the eyeppiece converter
the plastic took much longer
I used my caliper to meaure each to be sure it would be a snug fit
best part is that i didnt need any glue., i did buy some but its such a nice snug fit (snug but doesnt feel like any parts are being stressed)
They've got it in stock at B&H but neither Nikon nor B&H have a picture or description of it. I'm wondering if this might obsolete this modified magnifying eyepiece we've all been making or looking for parts to make.
B&H just notified me of shipment of my DK-21M and I should probably receive it Friday or Monday. As soon as I get it I will test it on my 20D and let y'all know.
Just got the Dk-21M , it fits on to the 20D and the D60 with out any surgery. The view thru the magnifying eye piece does appear bigger and definitely helps in Manual focusing.

how much of a magnification is it?
Oh, I saw this some place but I can't remember. It is less than the DK-17. Around 1.3 I think, but I've got no reference. Hopefully someone more clueful will come along shortly...
