I borrowed this one of Amfibius, tp://www.cameraquest.com/adaptnew.htm. Theyre not cheap, and I'm wondering if I can just buy one of the cheaper ones of ebay. I'd like to just buy one for each lens so I don't have to swap the adapter between lenses.

Heres my 105mm Defocus Control lens, shot at F2. Smooth bokeh. I hardly feel like I've even switched, and since this is my portrait lens, for blurring, you always shoot it wide open anyways! No inconvenience

Heres a 200% crop of the eye, with a heap of PS shadows/highlight done on it to lighten it up. Whos that wearing a blue shirt I dont even need to carry a fisheye lens around with me anymore, I can just bring my teddy bear

Somehow I'm starting to get this feeling that i'm not going to get my Nikon-Canon converter back!

Nice shots Sodes Some of them are a little bit underexposed though.

Photoshop CS2 has a great filter called Lens Correction which now allows you to use one screen interface to correct vertical or horizontal perspective, barrel distortion & fisheye, vignetting and chromatic aberration. Previous version of Photoshop you had to use many different screens or third party plugins or other software.

They sell two different versions

Great, theyre much cheaper, as I want to get a few more. The only problem I had with the really cheap ones on ebay, is they were all stainless steel, and obviously you don't want shiny steel at the rear of the lens element where it could cause reflections or ghosting, but the one you've posted is black!!

Please post back here as soon you try it out, and then Ill be behind you and order a couple myself.

Daniel.

The Leica one isn't the sharpest, the Nikon one is thought by many to be maybe the sharpest 50mm made. Although you can't see in the photo there because its at f/4, the Bokeh is also very nice due to the rounded blades.

Yeah, the pancakes lenses are good, and the Nikon one is probably close to being one of the sharpest.

It's also highly resistant to flare/ghosting, as it only has 6 elements.

Snaggs,
Don't wait on me to get one. I still have to find a WA nikkor to use with it. If you want one I'll get 2 and drop one in the mail to you. I just mailed a 400mm lens to Sydney. Pretty painless so far.

Quite nice results. I still find it quite funny that it is possible to use most Nikkors on Canon bodies without problems, but can't use FD lenses without putting an extra glass element in between, thus reducing quality.

Same way Nikon bodies wont meter with old Nikon glass on. I think only the D2X can but I am not sure.

Where did you pay $35?? Thats looking like the best price so far. Some other places are really price gouging for them.

I got both my adapters for $22 each, shipping was about $5, they're pretty amazing precision quality. The only thing is the stainless steel finish can cause some internal reflections when shooting wide open or stopped down all the way. So I've painted the internal side of the adapter with flat black micro tool paint. It seems to be working fine.

If you plan on using an R72 or R87 infrared filter, you should consider painting the internal side of the adapter.... it may sound crazy, but this is where I noticed the problems. After painting it , it was fine.
