Thank you Andy and errr CorruptedSanit, I didn't know you cared ... Andy I remember your 35/1.4 shots too, they were the ones that made me look up a year ago and still do. Remember Bino and the Canon cslr challenges? Good old days.
Some simply gorgeous shots here - it really does shine in low light (so to speak).
Am I right in observing it has something else - a certain tonal quality, a vibrance - over the zooms and consumer primes around this length, that's more than just about being "sharp" or "fast?" And would I see the same kind of quality on a 1.6 frame such as the XT?
And finally, would you put it in the same "wow" class as the 85L and to a slightly lesser extent, the 135L? I ask, I guess, because I'm still wondering about bangs for buck.

Yes!! It's packs the same WOW factor that the 85L does.........both have amazing contrast and colour. Sharpness is there too even though my experience shows that sharpness is where they are equal to the non-L primes. But the other factors make them worth their price......my opinion only of course!!
