This is one of the most effective dance scenes I can remember seeing; possibly because of the islolation of the dancer. The warm pink and golden light is glorious on her costume, and the pose dynamic.
I am very much an amateur photographer! A very good friend of mine and fellow photographer was telling me, "In action shots, the subject needs to have a place to go in the direction of movement." This is the best example that I have seen of this! It's interesting to me that you really can't tell, from the negative space and lack of motion, where the subject is heading. Her body is telling you, "I'm going right here!!" I can only hope that I will be able to capture moments like this in my photography future, excellent shot!
Thank you Abstracter!
Thank you Suzanne! The stage lighting shifted color, direction, and brightness periodically, and I have simply reproduced its look at the moment of this exposure.
Thank you Frank!
Thank you Allan, that's what I was hoping to project (the sense of potential movement into the area of dark), and I'm gratified that you like it!
