Ah no biggie. It's still very interesting though. I'm looking forward to seeing if the new pro model comes true. Hopefully it will take the place of the current 1D Mark II, which will mean that the 1D Mark II will no longer be the latest 1D series and bring the price of it down some (esp. used prices). In any event I always anticipate Canon's new releases, whether they appeal to my sports photography or not. I'm just the type who enjoys seeing things change (though I still love my 1D to heart)

It's possible the website was defaced. That would be consistent with cps.canon-europe.com being down for "maintainance" (or security review).

It's actually extreamly logical and in my opinion quiet a bit over due.

The 580 EX is a flash for digital cameras because it takes into consideration both white balance and crop factor.

Niether the 550 or the 420 have this...they should have, and will, put out a lower grade "digital" flash.

not to mention the 420 isn't completely compatible with the ETTL-II flash metering either.
