There have been a couple that I have seen. They tend not to last too long for some reason

I don't believe so. I know a few photographers in our armed forces and they all shoot Nikon and Hasselblad digital. yup. h3d's apparently are used quite often. d2x's (probably D3's now or soon) in the field.

I wouldn't call him a Marine as I really can't tell but the lens looks more like a 100-400L IS and he's not gonna "ice" anybody with no magazine in that 15. Methinks a setup shot.

His cover sure looks like it has an eagle, globe and anchor on it.

Not to mention the digital camo pattern that the marines adopted.

Here are two remote setups from Sunday night's NBA game. The Wolves played the Mavs at Target Center in Minneapolis. These remote setups belong to Dave Sherman, the Wolves team photographer.

They are either 1Ds Mk. I or 1D Mk. I bodies with 16-35 ƒ2.8 and a 17-40 ƒ4.0 lens attached.

What's the purpose of a rubber-hood, apart from the normal function of a hood?
