I don't believe so. I know a few photographers in our armed forces and they all shoot Nikon and Hasselblad digital. yup. h3d's apparently are used quite often. d2x's (probably D3's now or soon) in the field.

I wouldn't call him a Marine as I really can't tell but the lens looks more like a 100-400L IS and he's not gonna "ice" anybody with no magazine in that 15. Methinks a setup shot.
