It's definitely not a 5D--5D's don't have a pop-up flash. It looks like a 20D or 30D. Here's a 5D picture for reference:

it's too short to be a 400 L or 500 L.
It cannot be a 300, tripod clamp is too big..

just dont know...

400/2.8 IS. It's an IS model and w/ that collar, you have just 3 choices: 400, 500 or 600. It's too big around to be a 500 and a 600 is longer behind the collar.

I've got the 300mm and 500mm...I know it's not the 600mm, so that only leaves the 400mm...no doubt about it.

It's a 400, I have one. The WA lens used in this photograph makes it look odd.

But I thought you were talking about the MagicBall thing...that is a new one.

I looked at a magnified version in photoshop and it looks like a quick and dirty photoshop job. Besides, no one would hold that by the body only.
