If your not man enough to defend your gear, buy a different strap ~ but on the other hand CANON does instil a certain fear and respect, plus with the 1 series, the potential thief is afraid of being floored by the weight of it.
Which brings in the wide strap. I’ve a 1D and it kills me, but the MKII came with the Nikon strap and it’s far better. Weigh distribution and slip proof, at least when new, my complaint was it would not actually slip off the shoulder, this lead to some accidents too ~~~ so one cannot win.
