I noticed she has the brand label taped over on the camera hanging to her side. I've heard of this practice before as a form of theft deterrence, but I couldn't imagine how useful it would be. Just curious how many PJs or travel photogs out there do this?
Can't be too effective - not too many cameras have that shape!
I'm suspecting either a Nikon user that is protesting their employer's choice of Canon, or some kind of bazaar protest against corporations placing their name on their products.
Anarchists and neo-nazis can just give up right now - if you try to mess with a person looking like that you are sure to be dead or crippled before you know what jumped you (a guerilla photographer protective of his equipment, that is).

Most photographers I know tape over the canon/nikon logo so that it doesnt reflect in windows, and also, so that it doesnt attract the eye even more. I however do it on my nikon d70 because I dont like advertising for a camera I don't entirely believe in.

Here is a photo of my friend while doing aviation photography. He's holding a 10D with a 100-400 L right outside the airport fence here in Beirut.
I had to smile when I read your reply Ken. Yes, from the photos I posted she does seem to be someone famous! But, Gary is dead on here. Thanks, Gary for remembering with such precision!
That time I remember wishing I had one of the 70-200 F/2.8 ISs that were being used rather than my little 70-200 F/4L! But I still had a ball and got lots of advice about portrait photography.
Kind regards,
