So how did you achieve such a perfect exposure right off the bat? How do you get spot-on exposure for the clouds, blue sky and the shadow side of the tree simultaneously? Bracketing, blended exposures?

Does anybody have any city (not necessarily street, but in a city, maybe of a building) shots that are equivalent to 20 and 24mm on full frame (so 12.5 and 15 on 1.6x crop)? I'm trying to figure how wide is wide enough.

Kinda in a photograpic slump as I'm all messed up by this equipment thing and having to sort through all the BS.
Hoping to break free and clear as soon as I finish putting the newest leg set together. Once I do, I'm swearing off new equipment and lenses with the exception of the expected Canon 3D which should come out this year or in the near future for a long, long time.

Alex, only the Sigma 12-24 is compatible with full-frame DSLRs or 35mm film bodies. The others are useable on APS-C sensor sized DSLRs only.
Here's an image I've posted before but it's still a favourite. Sigma 12-24 @ 12mm, EOS1N, Kodak Gold 100.
