We'll if we can figure a way to mount 645 lenses, you would never have to worry about light fall out because we would only be using the very middle of the lens

Fotodiox and Zoerk take care of the medium format lenses being mounted on your 35mm body...
I am a relative newbie on these forums. Ventured here when I had a few things to sell. That said I have noticed the craze for Zeiss Leica and now Zuiko lenses and people paying ransoms to get these. I also look at some of the signatures and notice that some of the folks here have more lenses than can fit in a few bags.
So my question are
1. Is this a collector craze? Are people buying this for their showcases or actually use it to shoot?
2. For those who shoot things like landscape, how noticeable are the prints to the normal eye from a few hundred dollar canon or nikon glass to the several thousand dollar zeiss/leicas?
Well, I can only speak for myself, and since I'm awake, bored, and in a chatty mood, I'll respond.
1. I buy these lenses to use them, not collect them.
2. The difference is clear depending on how large your print is/the quality/etc. Do you or your client demand the sharpest photo possible with the least amount of digital aberrations? Then these lenses are a good area to look into...
This may be an insufficient answer, but in addition to being awake and bored, I also get distracted easily and was looking at something else while typing Feel free to re-address or pm
! What I really want to see is Canon release a strong 20mm lens in the next few months that compares favorably to the Zeiss and Oly. I'd love the see the faces on those who paid over $4000 for a 21mm f/2.8 Distagon when that happens...
Canon has had how many years to put together a stellar sub 35mm prime lens? I didn't pay 4 grand for my copy, and it's paid for itself already, but no need for schadenfreude, even in jest
