I got mine a few months back and haven't had a lick of trouble yet. The battery seems to last forever and I haven't gotten any error messages. It is on the body as tight as a drum and I see NO gaps as mentioned by others, as well as there being NO flex. The dealer claimed the original batch he got was recalled and this was of a new batch sent to him by Canon as a properly working design.......
