Thurmont is a town in Frederick County, Maryland, United States. The population was 6,935 at the 2020 census. The town is located in the northern part of Frederick County (north of Frederick, the county seat), approximately ten miles from the Pennsylvania border, along U.S. Highway 15. It is very close to Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin Mountain Park, the latter of which contains the presidential retreat of Camp David. Thurmont is also home to Catoctin Colorfest, an arts and crafts festival that draws in about 125,000 people each autumn.[5]
In 2005, Thurmont was designated as a Maryland Main Street Community, and in that year was designated a National Main Street under the National Trust for Historic Preservation.[6][7](Wikepdia- they need our support not ALL photographic btw)
I have studied history since I was a "kid". Taught it for ONLY 1 year. I thought "I" could learn and help myself and others what history actually is. I will stop there.
I grew up in the area..well 25 miles down the road....I worked in the area at times...visited it on business and pleasure for 67 years in total(today).

Thanks brother!
I was walking around Thurmont and saw the "scissors" hanging, then the dog grooming sign.
The 1st image always had a truck parked in front of the mural. Today it did not! Slammed on my brakes and got out!
A lady was on her way in with her "child" and I said..got to get "Snickers" in this some how.
My kids did NOT like getting groomed. They were all cocker spaniels and I did not have them groomed with the "spaniel skirt".
