p.1 #1Minolta MD W.Rokkor-X 35 f/2.8 adapted to the Nikon Zf
Anyone adapting any Minolta MD W.Rokkor X lenses to anything? I acquired the 50 1.2 and 35 2.8's several years ago and never really used them until recently, since I've been shooting crop Fuji for a while and 50/75 aren't really preferred focal lengths. The 50 1.2 has decent hazing on the rear element. I took the 35 2.8 out on a woods walk at a river park recently, adapted to my Nikon Zf (via the TTArtisans 6bit and an MD to M adapter so I get focus confirmation). I had never really used the lens since nothing stood out about it when I took random tests shots on the back porch; t's not particularly unique wide open like a Mandler, and at 2.8 not super shallow, so I really just ignored the 35 despite it being one of my favorite focal lengths, but after actually getting it out, I was really surprised with how much I like the images I got from it. I guess that goes to show the difference in test shots vs real world photos.
I'm not a buy/sell member at this moment, so here's a link to some photos from the aforementioned woods walk. Most/all were shot wide open at f/2.8. One or two might have been at f/5.6, but typically on adapted lenses, I don't bother to change the aperture value in camera, so I really couldn't tell you what is what.

I had the 28/2.8 MD and it was very nice. It had very rich, saturated colors.
That’s how I’m feeling about the 35. I was going to buy the Mandler 35 soon but this might have re-scratched my manual 35 itch. I should look into the 28 as well

Hi everyone and greetings,
(Posting ‘afresh’ in the forums, but I was a member since the early 2010s; then took a long-ish break around the covid years, came back one day but discovered my account was extinct, so I’ve decided it’s just easier to re-register; what’s gone is gone anyway)
I used the Minolta MC Celtic 35mm f/2.8 (both with the Zf and the Sony A7R2). As far as I remember, it’s supposed to be the same, or nearly the same, lens as the Rokkor, just meant for another regional market (US?). I found it performed very well with both cameras, although the corners were not very good WO and had to be cropped. But starting at f5.6, the performance was every bit as good as the native lenses of nowadays, with great sharpness and lovely Minolta colors. I wish I used the lens more than I did, but it’s just that every time I opted to go with 35, I’d pick a brighter lens instead. Otherwise, Minolta was pretty sweet. Still have it somewhere in the closet 🤷♂️

There are a few threads here (probably archived) about Minolta Rokkor lenses on mirrorless cameras. In short, they're great.
I used the MC Rokkor HH 35/1.8 on my Sony cameras; it was one of my all-time favourite 35mm lenses and the hardest one to let go (I got rid of all my Minolta lenses and Minolta SLR cameras late last year). A lot of people don't like it because it's not very sharp, at least at wider apertures, but that's exactly why I liked it. I have an album of photos I shot with that lens here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmWm4J6J

That's awesome. And the recommendations for the MD 28/2 are spot on. It's a well-behaved all-arounder. However, if you're after a wide with more of the qualities of your 35, take a look at the W. Rokkor 24/2.8.
