Anyone else notice the new features on the latest Adobe Ps version?
v.21.11 or there of...
A "Glow" slider in the "Effects"
Numerous other AI Generative fill options?
I only use 5% of all ACR, Br, PsCC "gizmos" options.
Just wondering.
Thanks!
Dan
Yes, there are a few goodies there. The glow slider also appears in Adobe Camera Raw, where I do my raw conversion before moving to Photoshop.
ACR has become incredibly powerful over the past few years. If you haven't checked them out, a few features you'll want to try include AI Denoise, the automated dust removal, the remove tool, and the extremely powerful masking tools.
These have changed my workflow to the point that I now do most of my work in ACR and far less is left for PS.
The glow came out a while ago and to be honest I don't check or use gen AI features. I also use LRC way more than ACR so I've not even played with Glow yet. I will when it gets ported over though. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1954780/0#17096711

The "Remove tool" and I are good friends. I use the "Lasso tool" and with the Generative Fill tool, if I can duplicate what I "put in the box" without too many "retries", to fill areas that appear "busy" or downright ugly!
Now I have Nik Dfine for my noise when I use it but the "preset" in Br-"Detail" is not bad but I must try that tool more. I have some users recommend the "Super resolution" in "Details" also....
With Winter upon us before we know it..I SHOULD, I say SHOULD, have more time to "play" in my edits..I only shoot raw...
Thanks Dan!

It may have come out a while ago( I dont remark with malice..at 79 I miss MANY tools) but has not been present in the ACR selections tool box and I keep Adobe up-to-date every day...it is in my "Startup Menu". Granted it may have been in the menu of another Adobe tool but not as "in your face" as it is in ACR-Details.
Thanks!

OK I see your thread now!
v19......YES I missed it totally and truthfully I probably should be checking the version details when Adobe tells me "Update Available". I usually ignore those...hence my ignorance..plus NOT reading the forum's forums.
Thanks again!
Dan
@Danpbphoto FWIW I use the glow tools halation mode for almost every B&W image I post here. Like @gdanmitchell I do most of my work in ACR now, and use PS for web generation and sizing.

It did arrive pretty recently. Feels like a matter of weeks ago.

It is really quite amazing how the relationship between PS and ACR has evolved. Back in the proverbial day, ACR was pretty much a fancy raw conversion app, though once it offered the smart object PS import feature started to be worthwhile to move some operations there. For example, I stopped doing spot removal in PS years ago, since I could do it as early in ACR and if I discovered a missed spot in PS I would just double-click the image layer to reopen it in ACR rather than fixing in in PS.
What I think is going on is that ACR and LR actually share a whole lot of stuff "under the hood." (At an Adobe presentation a few years back the speaker said words to the effect that the "use the same engine.")
More recently, with the addition of the ACR masking features, one of the biggest reasons for doing things in PS has almost gone away. Anyone who likes using masks (that's everyone, right?) really owes it to themselves to dig into ACRs amazing masking tools. You can do crazy stuff once you catch on to how it works. And, of course, it is all undoable and continuously editable — everything is entirely non-destructive.
I believe it was added to ACR in the early September 2026 release, then followed in whatever PS release came after that. Point is, it hasn't been around long. PS updated their adjustment layer options at that time to essentially match the ACR UI on several adjustments.

I am using PsCC and I have only now seen it in the "Detail" panel.
As I stated Jack...I do not review the "updates" when the latest version is installed.
Guess I should because I have used it a few times already with the Fall color!

Just fyi everyone..

Are we still talking about Glow in ACR? (When you open a Raw file in PS it opens in ACR that is within PS), Glow is in the Effects panel.

"Latest Ps version..."
and "Glow" is as you stated when "Open in Camera Raw"
Thanks!
