p.1 #1Lightroom not recognizing 3rd party Leica M lens EXIF data
I'm trying to manually edit lens information in EXIF fields for photos taken with Leica M10 series and Zeiss and Voigtlander lenses.
No matter what I try, Lightroom does not auto match the lens profile for non Leica lenses. If I manually encode EXIF with Leica lens info, e.g. Summilux 50mm, Lightroom correctly matches it. If I try a Zeiss 35mm 1.4 it doesn't work.
I opened up the .lcp lightroom profiles files to make sure I'm matching on the correct names, but that didn't help.
Lightroom does show the Lens metadata correctly, just doesn't match it to a lens correction profile.
Did any of you manage to get this process to work? I'm starting to think that Lightroom doesn't automatically match non Leica lenses shot on Leica M cameras even if it's Zeiss coded in EXIF.
Here's an example of "Summilux-M 1:1.4/50 ASPH." EXIF fields that work:
LensMake: Leica Camera AG
LensModel: Summilux-M 1:1.4/50 ASPH.
LensInfo: 50 50 1.4 1.4
FocalLength: 50.0
MaxApertureValue: 1.4
Here's an example of "Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35 ZM" EXIF fields that don't work:
LensMake: Leica Camera AG
LensModel: 35mm F1.4
LensInfo: 35 35 1.4 1.4
FocalLength: 35
MaxApertureValue: 1.4
I tried different variations for the lens-model field, but no luck. e.g. Zeiss Distagon T* 1,4/35 ZM, Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35 ZM
Here's what the Lightroom "Leica Camera AG (Zeiss Distagon T 1.4_35 ZM) - RAW.lcp" profile file specifies. This is just a snippet of the file with relevant fields.
