I have both Fast Raw Viewer and ApolloOne Photo Video Viewer on a Mac.
It is the latter that I normally use for viewing images, raw, jpegs, etc. - give it a try.
I used Photomechanic in the past, when it didn't require subscription.

Just downloaded FRV... perfect for what I want to use it for
I just noticed this yesterday. Anyone tried it? I'm on Win for my desktop (Mac for laptop when I'm away) so I'll need to switch to a Studio before trying it.

I think I'm going to switch to FRV as Photomechanic is going to require an upgrade with Mac OS 28.
I just upgraded to OS 27 and some of my programs, including PM, didn't work without installing Rosetta... so I did.. and everlasting works fine now.
Thoughts on FRV?
I use FRV as an "editor" launched from PM with Cmd+E.
As a tool for assessing the technical quality of files FRV is excellent, very fast and much more capable than PM. You need to learn the keystrokes to take full advantage of the speed
But PM's strength is in file renaming and file organisation on ingest, along with key wording and captioning. which FRV, in comparison to PM, offers virtually no tools.
For me, FRV couldn't replace PM, but if you just need a powerful file viewer, FRV is an excellent tool.

Yes!! I totally agree with you. My primary use is as a file browser. I can browse through all my folders quickly. I can also cull there, and open straight into Lightroom.
ApolloOne (Pro) is my primary image viewer. I also have DxO Photolab 10, Capture One, FastRawViewer, RawDigger, and Topaz Photo on this Mac, for different reasons. For viewing and culling I normally use ApolloOne.
I can wholeheartedly recommend ApolloOne. I like this viewer - give it try. ApolloOne offers a 14-day free trial.
