Re: the grain thing...
I'm comparing Neopan 1600 and APX 25 on the same image. Neopan appears to resolve more detail than APX, which I think is the opposite of how it ought to be? Also, Neopan appears to be resolving too much detail for the grain size—in a real photo, the grain would destroy some of the detail, but here it's acting as more of a layer on top of the detail.

Yep currently looking into grain for v1.2.0 release, likely coming next weekend. Will be a complete overhaul of the grain pipeline

I just wanted to say thank you for this amazing app and all the work you've put into it!
I've spent a ridiculous amount of money on presets, profiles, and all sorts of other tools over the years, but none of them have given me results anywhere near what I'm getting from your app. I'm genuinely impressed.
Right now, the biggest limitation I see is the workflow. Having to open files one at a time can be pretty tedious. It would feel much more natural to browse through an entire folder image by image, or even have access to a folder tree directly within the app.
The other thing is integration with existing software. I imagine building a plugin for Capture One or Lightroom wouldn't be easy, but if someone ever managed to pull that off, it would be absolutely fantastic.
For the time being, I'm using the "Open With..." option in Capture One as a workaround, and it's actually reasonably practical.
In any case, huge respect for what you've created. I'm really excited to see where this goes next and will definitely be following future development closely!

Thank you for the kind comment (also @deadwolfbones)! Tells me that releasing this app to the public was the right decision
And I feel you on the ridiculous amount spent on presets etc.. I did the same and was never really happy with the results compared to real film, which was a big part of my motivation to build this app.
Re C1/LR - as I said I'm not hugely motivated to build something specifically for these apps. But I do see the workflow issue and that's definitely something I will work on in future releases.
v1.2.0 will focus on grain & sharpness. Longterm to do's right now: Multi-image workflow, Windows version, maybe audit for some of the film stocks that are still ported from spektrafilm. And I might fast-track a side project: using the virtual negative to print part of the app to build an app to convert camera-scanned negatives (I still shoot a lot of real film and imo negative conversion is unnecessarily iffy )

Hell yeah. I'm stoked for this update. I ran some video snippets through the app today and it worked quite well. It was misreading the log profile but once I caught that it was fine. I was surprised by how fast the processing was. I've been testing this all on a M4 MacBook Air 😅.
