Wow, I never thought I’d ever get excited about a Sigma camera, but this model has me thinking—and that new, compact 50mm lens also looks very intriguing. Bravo, Sigma!
The original FP has a special place in my heart, but also had so many odd quirks that kept it out of my rotation. I love the small size, it has fantastic jpgs, and it's a great alt-host.
This should do all of those things better, along with being a better video platform, and have much better autofocus if I want to throw modern lenses on it.
The small size makes it a very compelling hybrid to pair with my M10, sharing lenses for the most part although I might get an AF zoom for some versatility.
I'm very interested. It's tiny, it's handsome, it appears to have a reasonably robust jpeg engine, and, importantly, Sigma actually makes lenses that suit this form factor. I might have to give it a try.
Really interested in this lens and new CL line. I found the manual focus experience was just ok with the I series lenses, and aside from the 45mm they have pretty modern rendering. Something with more classic rendering and hard stops at infinity, plus autofocus should I want it, is really ideal.
Yeah the lens line has me VERY interested! The I series felt great but a little bloated, and looked too clean for me. If they do a fast 28 that would be a super cool daily carry lens for multiple platforms.
Agree with folks here. I think I am going to give this a try. This camera with the Sigma 20-60 and a tiny prime would seem to be the perfect travel setup.
Two things that'll either make or break this camera for me.
1) Sensor filter stack thickness or rangefinder lens compatibility generally. Do we at least know if it has an OLPF?
2) Whether the LCD is bright enough for manual focusing with peaking in broad daylight. Obviously the EVF and LCD loupe would make this a non-issue, but they're both unwieldy enough to push field usage back to LCD only.
For those that don’t need an EVF, nor use flash, this seems like a great camera. I have a couple of Contemporary lenses and so far they seem to be great optics in a small package. For those that want an EVF, do you really want to hang that large EVF off to the side of the camera? Well, no EVF for me. Regarding flash, I use flash toned down for fill flash. That isn’t really a great option here. Now, if you want this camera for video, it looks like a great option. Hard pass for me, but I’ll see what the A7CRii brings. It will be larger than the non-EVF version of this camera, but a very small camera can be a real pain in the hand with ergonomics working against enjoying the shooting experience, so the Sigma grip is probably a must buy for those that pick up this Sigma.
That’s a nice looking lens. Now they need a camera that goes with it (or release it for Z mount and mount it on the ZF — I know it might need Nikon to agree though).

Anyone else starting to cringe with any of the three constantly abused marketing terms: “organic,” “vintage” or “cinematic?”
And "photography journey" (everything is a "journey"), "makes you want to pick it up," "reconnects you with the process," everything about bringing "passion" back to photography... few industries traffic in cliche like this one.
