Up for sale is avmuseum-quality 1957 Leica IIIg rangefinder camera paired with a similarly clean 1950 collapsible Elmar 50mm f/3.5 lens.
The camera body is in near-mint condition and shows pretty much NO physical wear. It looks as if it has been preserved in a time capsule. The vulcanite grip is fully intact, the chrome finish is stunningly bright, and mechanically it operates in perfect working order. The shutter speeds are accurate across their entire range, the rangefinder patch is sharp and well aligned, and the viewfinder is crystal clear.
Lens Condition:
The included 1950 Elmar 50mm f/3.5 collapsible lens is remarkably clean, with no fungus, separation, or haze. There is only a little bit of internal dust consistent with its age. Mechanically, the aperture blades are clean and the focus ring turns smoothly.
What’s Included:
• Leica IIIg Camera Body (Serial number dates to 1957)
• Leica Elmar 50mm f/3.5 Collapsible Lens (Serial number dates to 1950) with original lens cap
