I just read from FR that the XF 50-140mm is so small it won't need a tripod collar. In line with the same thinking, Fujifilm should update their XF100-400mm lens. It can be sharper and lighter. For me, the versatility of that range was really useful although I'm having fun with the underrated consumer lens XF70-300mm.

Thoughts?
I tried the Fuji 100-400 and found it sharp, but too heavy. I ended up buying a Fuji 70-300 and using it with a Fuji 1.4 TC. I have used this combo for several years and find it light enough to carry about and sharp enough to get great images.
Two things can be true at the same time. The 70-300 is a pretty nice substitute but the 100-400 also definitely needs an update. If nothing else, to shed some weight.
