Very nice captures @pdog109 it looks like you had a great hike and nature didn't disappoint. The 600 f/6.3 is something else... fantastic lens! Enjoyed the images.

Hatch
Its quite something yea, I share you exuberance for it haha. I though about your deer when I saw them out there, like these are not the paid actors that hatch shoots haha.

The actors union will be in touch
Not all my deer are paid, but I will say this year we've been devoid of bucks. I've only run across a couple and they were really young. All the big bucks (for Coues deer) are no where to be found. I'm hoping they start showing up sooner than later.

A morning mix...
Excellent set! Where about in AZ are you? I spent some time in Sierra Vista over the years for work, I really like the area and wish I could get stationed there! Was just recently there for a few weeks in the summer and finally got some good AZ birds like the Coppery-tailed Trogon, Sulpher-bellied Flycatcher, Painted Redstarts and some others.

Chasing birds cover came in the mail today and got my 600 6.3 dressed up. I have rolanpro on my 300 so I wanted to try something different. It's pretty good quality, just an annoying tag on top of the hood seam which I just cut off and I think the seam should have been on the bottom of the hood but oh well. All the cover pieces combined weigh in at 78 grams.
Weight of the A1 with battery, lens with hood, and kirk foot totals 2048g or 4.51lb.
Lens hood with the cover comes in at 153 grams. I like it, adds a bit of heft which should help with stability and in heavy wind.
I forgot to put on the lens preset focus strip which weighs 5g, which i don't think you would want to put on anyway.
The cover does make it a much tighter hand hold for the foot, I could solve this by getting a taller foot but I think there all similar heights. Without the cover I could get my fingers comfortably under the foot, with the cover I feel like I got big old sausage fingers. Not really an issue for me since I don't typically stick my fingers in there, mostly let the lens dangle at my side with my black rapid strap or I hold it by the back end/knob of the foot, I like having the knob there for that reason.
Maybe the version with the window for the lens controls is thinner since its just one piece and not having the flap to add extra width? hmm.
