First morning out with the 400 4.5 on my A7RVI and on A1 (600 F4 on other body).Quite impressive piece of glass and engineering. Photos taken at El Rio Preserve in Marana, AZ.

Just got my 400 4.5 today. Initially I thought they'd have to pry the 300GM from my cold dead hands, but as soon as I picked up the 400 4.5, I knew that might change.
I really was not expecting it to be that big of a difference. But man the lens is light. Exactly as Hatch keeps saying. When you use it - you forget you even have it.
I walked about 10 miles this evening, which is very unusual for me, and didn't even notice the setup hanging at my side.
These pics aren't anything special, but hopefully give an idea of bokeh, and lower shutter speed handling. Pics without the TC are sharp as expected.

Like your exif I think this make sense to understand what can be achieved with the lens. Crop and distance are very important. I've learned that 200 ft/70 meters is kind of limit at which I can get keepers. Similarly 4k/10mp (4000x2700) is my limit for cropping. I can go slight below that (8mp) still keep the details if the original is very sharp and low ISO.
A1 II and FE 400mm F4.5 GM OSS + 1.4X Teleconverter @ 1/160sec, f6.3, ISO 250, 10MP(3835X2612), Effective FL 1262mm, Distance 31ft

Yeah the added exif data is awesome! It really helps to know whether someone's image is frame filling, or cropped to death.
In the pursuit of finding subjects specifically to test this 400 4.5, I ended up finding a new area with at least two barred owls. Have been seeing them every trip so far which is cool.
Hey everyone! For those who already got their hands on the lens, where was yours made? I heard there are multiple manufacturing origins, but haven't seen any confirmation yet, wanted to see if that's true.
