I was up at Schulman Grove in the Bristlecone Pine Forest very recently. I took the photo of the iconic Dead Sentry” tree in the late afternoon. I cranked the shutter speed way up to give it that nighttime look. Then I drove about a mile down the road to wait for darkness to photograph some Milky Way as well as the Waxing Crescent Moon that night. Got some decent moon shots. Next day I did some editing using both LR for Ipad and Snapseed and using the double exposure function in Snapseed was able to combine 2 photos into the one pictured.
