sure why not?

It's more about your skills, marketing and what you deliver than the body.

Many people still used DSLR for paid work.

Very possible. I played 2nd shooter with crop before and they turned out great. If the event is indoor I would suggest having a flash.

I shot weddings with a 10D and 20D as did many others at the time. The A6700 is worlds more capable than those bodies or indeed the FF DSLR bodies I used subsequently. The combo of good high ISO (800+), IBIS, reliable tracking, eye focus and modern flash wireless capabilities and their use of Li batteries would have been a dream and fantasy back then. I was cutting edge at the time using the (expensive!) Radiopopper Px system to allow reliable outdoors Wireless ETTL but boy was it a kludge!
