Log Saw Mill
p.1 #1Log Saw Mill
This olde fashioned log saw mill is on State Park Property near Camp David, MD.
It is fully funtional and they have demonstrations at some time. It is very unique in that most of the "gears" are made of wood not metal. Huge rubber canvas belts propel the log through the blade.
Dan
This metal gear assembly was on the property but the Park Ranger said ir was NOT part of the olde saw mill.

Beautiful set, Dan, especially the first.
Curious as to how the pawls are working in that image.
Nicely done.

I had to look up "pawls". I don't have an answer for you...
Thanks!
Dan
I have more pics on another computer. Maybe they can add some perspective to your inquiry. Let me look.

VERY interesting Robert!
The walk thru the wooden path in Fall was wonderful. Suddenly you are there..in the middle of an open cleared area.
Thanks!

Love the dark and light in these, Dan'l!

These tones could be adjusted a tad more Douglas. It was early morning on a cool crisp Fall day and the sun and the leaves made everything sparkle!
The shadows could be enhanced more and the whites a bit more "pop".
Thanks!

Really nice series of images, Dan.
Brent
Thanks Brent! The tones could be improved as it was early morning, in a forest, Fall, and just me at "the mill"! Everything but 2 items were wood!
Lots of rain and late Fall temps due in tonight! Hooray!!!

Very gracious of you Marcelo...I see that maybe I could some do more "toning" in them being that there is NO color conflict involved in the mono...It was 98% wood. I saw this ONLY in mono.
I still long for that "sheen" many of you acquire....glossy, crisp, sharp lines....
