We have been in Fairbanks Alaska for the past few days staying within walking distance of two wildlife refuges. As you might guess we have visited both of them. It is the tail end of the Sandhill Crain migration and this is the last image I took. For a change after the morning fog burned off the sun came out and we had nearly pure blue skies. The sun felt so nice and warm I was in a t-shirt at 55f as I shot. The sun is always at a low angle in Alaska so it's magic our light almost all day. Next is the long journey home by car and air.

The second shot is an incredible behavioral moment.
"Everybody was Kung Fu fighting (huh!)
Those birds were fast as lightning (ha!)"
Nice warm shots Morris... the residual atmospheric haze adds a little painterly effect.

Thank you Eric,
I think I should have posted the fight alone. It may need better processing, I'll try that when I'm home in a day or so. I now get to drive about 8 hours in classic Alaska drizzle through some of the most magnificent scenery in the US.

We were in Alaska for peak fall color. I loved working with the colors for both my landscapes and wildlife shots. I toned down the background in this photo as it overwhelmed the subject.
