The last 3 photos in this set were taken from the road side while driving in the park in the area where you can drive. We also did some hiking yet only saw a few birds during our hikes and mostly fleeing glimpses of them yet I took numerous landscapes during our hikes and drives. I've already posted some of the landscapes and will post one of Mt. Fairweather (Denali). Only about 30% of visitors to the park get to see Mt. Denali so we are among the lucky ones. We also saw it from 160 miles away while driving along the 20 Mile River. I should have stopped for a photo yet I was in get there mode. One special sighting was of a Grizzly and her cub walking in the middle of the road. I took a photo of this through the National Park Shuttle Buss windshield with some obstructions of others on the buss. I present that photo in black and white as I could not get the color even close. Except for the Moose images, all the others are taken through open windows on the bus. The moose images are taken from the side of the road. The last moose image is of the moose as it started to react to the small crowd photographing it. As it's ear went up I ran back had put a car between me and the moose and warned the others to move yet they looked at me as if I were crazy. I got in the car and drove off, I did not want to see what would happen or stress the moose further.

I have done the bus trip in the national park twice and your photos are amazing for what you were working with. You were very lucky to see the whole mountain. Did you do the whole route?

We went as far as the turnaround due to the landslide which removes the last 40 miles of the route. When I was was in Alaska 40 years ago, we saw Mt. Denali 4 days in a row from over a hundred miles away. Today started off with pea supe fog and then the sun came up which is great as we are now in Fairbanks which is supposed to be a prime spot for the Northern Lights. I agree scooting from the bus is very hard as you have to bend into all sorts of odd positions to make use of open windows and that's when the animals are far enough to be safe to open the windows. The bare shots were taken using my articulating LCD so that I could only have the lens out the window.

Talk about Majestic! My favorite shot is the one of the Caribou. Also great instincts to get out of there when the the ear when up; smart photographers no when to leave with the beautiful pictures they captured and no hospital bill

I didn't see Denali until my third trip to Alaska. Good for you to have the weather clear up for your shots.
