p.1 #1Be Cautious about Negative Supply
Be cautious about ordering from Negative Supply. They have a policy of not allowing any returns and of not allowing any cancellations, even within minutes of making an order. Their customer service is non-existent--they simply do not respond--and they generally deliver product 5-6 weeks after an order is placed. To me, Negative Supply operates more like a bizarre cult than like a real company.

Here is what happened:

I ordered a copy stand and associated accessories from them on their web site and then decided within a few minutes I might want a different version of the copy stand, which I was also planning on buying from them. I called their "Customer Service" phone number, got voice mail, left a message, and got no response. After a couple of days of not hearing anything, I emailed their "Customer Service" address, asking to cancel the order and again got no response. After a few more days, I filled out their "Customer Contact" form on their website, but again I got no response. And all I was trying to do was to cancel an order that in the first instance I had placed less than an hour before--and that they would not deliver for five or six weeks.

I never did hear anything from their "Customer Service" which seems not to even exist as a function at the company.

Everything they sell can be replaced by products available from other sellers that operate like normal companies.

Not sure it’s legal to not allow physical items to be returned? If you paid by credit card it may be worth speaking to the card company.

Good reason to order from B&H et al. Same price, fast shipping and they will except returns.

Do they state their "no returns" policy before ordering?

Only if you click through a link at the bottom of the webpage. There is nothing about "No Returns" or "All Sales Final" on the ordering page or on the product pages.

And I wasn't even trying to make a return--I was trying to cancel an order that I had placed less than 30 minutes earlier, at 11 o'clock at night, for one of their standard copy stands. Never got a reply from three messages to their phone voicemail, their email address, and their contact form.

I think it is legal in the U.S. If you click through the link that says return policy it will tell you that they order parts for each item in each order at the time of the order and therefore they don't accept returns. Legitimate companies offer reasonable return policies except for special or custom orders. What I was ordering was their basic copy stand and bundled accessories right out of their catalog--not anything custom-made or special-ordered. They don't take returns on anything.

And I wasn't even trying to make a return--I was sending a message to cancel an order that I had placed 30 minutes earlier--and this was late at night when they weren't even open. And then they never responded to three separate messages to their "Customer Service."

They have however managed to send my email an unending stream of spam ads for their products.

Completely bad faith behavior that is deliberately exploitative of customers.

They do seem like a cult rather than a store or a company. Be very careful buying anything from them.

Unfortunately, this sort of policy is legal. Even B&H has some extreme fine prints - e.g. I discovered you cannot return MacBook pros without a refund deep on their return policy page.

Check your credit card to see if you have return protection. That comes in handy in situations like this. You can also try to dispute it directly with your credit card company - a potential charge back incentives accommodation but it is a waste of your time to do so too.

Surprised by this but I’m in the U.K so I think it is different here where we have 14 days to return goods and a cooling off period for orders (as far as I’m aware). Hope this works out for you.
