I recently grabbed one of canons last analogue film cameras… the 300X, boxed, mint, complete with lens and all accessories…£26 delivered!!
I then thought why not hunt down the 300D 6.3mp. I think it was canons first consumer digital body??

It arrived a few days ago. Today I finished work early and decided to play…
Build quality is worlds apart from the R100, but jeez the rear screen and the interface is so outdated. So I concentrated using just the buttons and the viewfinder. Didn’t want to go above iso 100, so fitted a IS lens….18-135 is stm. Worked like a charm
I opted for raw just to see what would happen.
Luckily my old windows laptop had no problem opening the RAWs up??
Well, I’m loving the colours. The AF seemed accurate enough, obviously not to mirrorless standards, but it was fine.
Spent a hour or so outside just snapping. Brilliant fun. I’m going out again tomorrow, will pair it with a L optic… I’m curious what it will deliver.
Like I say, bucket loads of fun. Brilliant way to spend an afternoon. No pressure.
Limiting cameras to no less than $3000 or whatever would reduce the gasses. Nothing is more fun than using high-grade, modern gear. Rent/hire the R1 and fast L glass for a weekend. It's so responsive.
It is fun playing with some of the older gear. I have been recently using some very old manual focus lenses for a different look...it has been a lot of fun too...it doesn't break the bank either.
As a side note, I believe the 300D was the first Rebel, so you are using a newer camera . The D30 (I owned one and still have the successor the D60) were the first Canon digital cameras (non-Kodak). The 30D is 3MP. It actually took surprisingly good photos. I bought it originally as a quick way to get views for studio work and quickly found out I really liked it and you could do more with 3MP (and later 6MP) than I realized.
Based upon the amount of gear you've accumulated as per this, and previous posts, I'd say there is no cure for you. You seem to be more interested in collecting gear than taking pictures.
