p.1 #1 · B+W failure

My 95mm nano filter has fallen apart. The glass is held in place with a rear ring that has micro threads, but it somehow unscrewed doesn't go back in very far. Has anyone had the filters serviced?

Please no comments about not using filters. After 50 years of SLRs I know when to use a filter and what kind for what purpose.

Thanks.

Maybe it has multiple entries and you didn't get into the proper one.
When put them toghether go in reverse until you hear/feel a faint click. Then go easy with normal screwing.

Does the inner retention ring extend beyond the edge of the outer filter ring when loose? If so, try laying the inner ring down on a grippy pad (rubber, silicone, etc) facing up with the glass on top and threading the outer ring onto it. Sometimes it's easier to keep both rings flat and parallel that way rather than trying to hold the inner ring steady.

I'm quite sure that this is a single thread. The combination of big diameter, fine pitch and fragile ring makes this a dexterity test. It might be possible to identify where the threads start and mark the parts.

Thanks for the info. I had a medical urgency and have not gotten back to that filter issue. When I'm fully on my feet I'll try to find some rubbers and see what I can do.
