As I was crossing one of the bridges at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY; I spotted a huge school of little fish racing around in random patterns. The fish were the same tiny fish the terns eat, about the length of my thumb. When I processed my photos using Photoshop's dehaze adjustment it became apparent they were feeding.

So cool Morris! I think those are menhaden, no? They ram feed like some whales for algae/plankton with their mouths open like that. Nice catch!

Very nice set! Did you use a polarizing filter to reduce glare/reflection? One of salt water marshes I visited recently had a similar swarm just under the surface but I left my filters at home and couldn't get a usable shot.
