Just that really
Anyone use the 24-240 on crop bodies
Curious as to how it holds up. I looked on YT but can’t find anything?

Anyone??

Here is one of the few or only articles that addresses both RF and RF-s performance.
https://opticallimits.com/canon/canon-rf/canon-rf-24-240mm-f-4-5-6-is-stm
It looks like the bad areas of the lens would be cropped out and the center is fairly good on a cropper.
Are you using the 32MP R7 or a lower resolution body?

Thanks for the link
I have the R100 & R50. I don’t much like the R50 tbh, but it’s got better AF so my hand might be forced.

I vowed I wouldn’t buy any more RF glass, then spotted a used 24-240 at a stupidly low price, bid and won !! £355 comes with hood too…. If it’s junk I’ll send it back , so nothing to lose really except my time. I intend to pair it with the 14-30 PZ. Should make a nice 2 lens travel / walkabout combo.

I suggest testing the used lenses carefully, since those superzooms are fragile and can become misaligned. R100 appears to be the lowest of low with an older image processing system from the 2010s. I don't know how it could be better to use than any modern Canon.

I never said it was better, just that I preferred it. I’m not a fan of articulated screens. I suppose the R100 reminds me of my 6D… just a bare bones simple camera.

As for the lens… I agree and will definitely be testing it, slightest whiff it’s not quite right it’s going straight back.

Haven't used it on a crop body, just my RP. You can go from 24mm to 240mm, by a turn of the wrist. It's a versatile lens, without a doubt.

Looks great, I’d be happy with those 👍🏻
I’ve read on FF the corners are the weakest part? But as I’m shooting on crop hopefully I should be ok.
🤞fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow!! 🫣

Not to hijack your thread, but regarding the R100, it is a basic camera. No frills, nothing fancy at all. However, it delivers. I was impressed by how well it focused on the squirrel. It was breezy, there were tall weeds/grass and a metal fence, but the camera nailed focus.

I use the 24-240 on my R10 every now and then. Nothing to complain about. Never tried it on my R100 as the lens feel rather big on these small bodies. And I really like the RF-S 10-16 on the R100.

I managed to get a few (3) 3D printed grips they fit both R100/50 perfectly and make a huge HUGE difference to both ergonomics and handling. I actually tried the R100+Grip with my old 300/4is. Felt great

So I’m hopeful the 24-240 with its native mount will excel. - Just hope it’s as good as the seller described.
