I've been enjoying sightings and occasional photo captures of a mated pair of Northern Cardinals in our neighborhood. They like my new bird feeder and I like watching them.
The last couple weeks haven't been kind to their appearance. They look plucked, their beautiful crests are gone. They look like they were in a fight, although Google informs me it's a normal late-summer molt.
I'll be on the lookout for fresh new plumage, meanwhile here are a few of my better images.
