p.1 #1 · OM-1 or OM-1Mkii?

Looking at both the Mk1 and Mkii versions with 12-40 f/2.8 lens in the OM Systems refurbished outlet. For general photography (travel, kids, landscape ) use, is it worth paying $768 more for the Mkii? I was actually considering the OM-5Mkii, but the refurbished OM-1 kit comes in cheaper at only $1151.

I don’t care about speed or buffer size… as long as the OM-1 AF works well for people, that’s good for me.

Based on your use described. The OM 1 Mki would be the way to go.

I use the Mk 1 and have no reason to move to the Mk 2. The Mk 1 works great for what I photograph, which is mostly hiking and travel.

Both have face detection, but OM-1ii has "human" detection as well.

I suppose that would be helpful with active kids who may have their faces turned away at a given moment.

I use v1 mainly for wildlife and I see no reason to upgrade. Although the built-in ND filter would be nice for the times I shoot sunsets over the ocean.

Thanks. I am looking forward to receiving and using the OM-1. I have owned several Olympus digital and m4/3 cameras - I’m glad this one still has the Olympus brand, and I hope OM Systems continues to thrive.
