p.1 #1 · Nighttime shooting w/critters and slithering things
I'm wondering how people handle being out in the middle of no where, in total darkness, to shoot the Milky Way / Aurora etc, keeping creepy crawly things away. I'm asking specifically about the US southwest but for anywhere would/could be helpful to all.

What creepy crawly things are you worried about? Most want nothing to do with you.
Rattlesnakes, mountain lions, scorpions, bobcats. I know that they are supposed to be more afraid of me and the wife I'm just thinking if you are sitting there for hours quietly you might receive guests. If I need to to sing the entire Beatles catalog at volume to keep these away from the wife, it might become taxing.

Things like mountain lions or bobcats will stay far away from you. Things like snakes and scorpions…wear high cowboy boots. I doubt if you went looking for any of these you’d find them.
