For out door shoots I don't mind lugging around my Sigma 105 f/1.4. I get absolutely fabulous results with this lens.
indoors in my current studio its the Sony 50 f/1.4.
I have not read the entire thread, but my guess is there’s no real consensus. Now I mostly use my do-it-all lifestyle lens, the 35-150 Tamron. The few times I’ve lusted for the Sony 50-150/2, I realize I use the 35-50 range quite a bit for families or groups and including environmental features and the desire goes away. The 70-200/2.8 is a versatile option too, but the range is somewhat limited more towards head and shoulder work.
