This young river otter and its sibling had become separated from the rest of their family. Despite many calls (loud chirping) they got no response from family members. In the meantime they thought hiding in this drainage culvert would be a safe place for the time being. A rather mucky slime on the bottom of this culvert, but a lot better than being in a sewage culvert.
