The important bit is how is the core photography segment doing, which is ILC ultimately. And I think they were all doing surprisingly well over the past 3 years, except OM system. But in 2026 almost all of them are struggling because demand in China has collapsed.
Fuji has a broader P&L, which is beneficial for the overall company, but if e.g. GFX or X was loss-making for too long they'd also kill it eventually. So from a consumer perspective, does it matter so much if other departments are doing well?
It is also unclear whether Fuji's spike in camera production will persist or whether they'll drop back to something more in line with their previous years. I kind of expect the latter tbh. And I also expect to see production come down for all manufacturers.

I don’t want to play into the whole brand wars thing too much, though. I think the real story is that things have shifted quite a bit over the past decade or more. Canon still seems to dominate, Sony has made great inroads and is now clearly the main competitor, Fujifilm may be doing better than we might have expected, Nikon’s long market share decline doesn’t look like it is stopping, and a few other small competitors are interesting....Show more →
You can always argue about including other revenue streams like printers for Canon, all sorts of stuff for Fuji and Sony. As stated above, I think it makes sense to look at ILC because that is mostly a like-for-like comparison, while comparing a Z6III to an Instax Mini is not.
I have and regularly use cameras from Fuji, Nikon, Pentax, Ricoh, Canon, Leica and Hasselblad, so I don't care for brand wars in the slightest. But I do care about the health of this segment of the photography market.
