Trying to figure out where your camera was in relation to the birds - under? Side? Or somewhere in between?
We once stayed in a house that had a hummingbird feeder. It was a shock to the system to discover that such cute tiny birds could be so aggressive and territorial.
Thank you ! They are amazing little creatures who go to great lengths to protect their food source whether it be flowers or feeders. These were protecting flowers. I was looking at them with probably a 20-30 degree angle to my right.

It is amazing. From the ones I have seen , the perched bird will not give up its position. This young guy did not and eventually the other one left.

I'm late to this party, but love what I see. These are just outstanding, Birdie!
I love the clarity of focus, and actually am amazed that they are so sharp, as I usually feel like I need 1/3200 or 1/4000 Sec to adequately freeze these little 'jets'.
