p.1 #1 · Preachin to the choir....but....I left the Canon stuff at home.

Just got back from 3 weeks in the Pantanal in Brazil.
Left all my Canon gear at home.
Took only the OM System stuff.
18.5k photos later and starting to edit (I have posted a couple in the M43 Image thread), and I have not missed the 45mps from my R5 MkIIs at all. I consciously tried to fill the frame during the trip so as to minimize heavy cropping.

About 50/50 use with the MZ 150-400 f/4.5 +TC and the MZ 50-200 f/2.8. Both on OM-1 MkIIs.
First couple of hours in the morning (we left on the small boat at 5:30AM every day) the f/2.8 was great, Once the light was up Gandalf was primary. Had the 12-40 f/2.8 and the 7-14 f/2.8, and never used them. We were in boats that got maybe to 30 ft. off the terrain so a 100mm FFE focal length was fine. Took candids on the hotel boat etc with my phone.

Happy to answer any questions you all have.

I hear you. Not shooting much wildlife, but I went to Scotland recently and only took my MFT kit. Next week, I’m going for a drive in the Alps and I’ll take my MFT stuff for long work and my GFX for panoramas.

I may take the R5, but that would only be to test the new Megadap M-RF mount AF adapter I have for review.

I’m more and more in doubt about a lot of my Canon gear and the many FF lenses I have but hardly ever touch.

glad you liked them. myself I am not pairing a $8k lens on a 20mp sensor that is a few years old now. if OM would give us a 25mp or so, I might consider it. on the 50-200 2.8, I returned mine after a week. found it too clumsy for only 50mm more over my very one-hand holdable 40-150 2.8, and at 200mm, my PL 200mm 2.8 was slightly sharper and nicer color rendition to my eyes.
