p.1 #1A Few More Hummingbirds and a Sweet Surprise on the last.
The little lady in the first shot, was really enjoying the rain !
I'm still taking photos of these lovely little ones while they are here. Just a few form the past few days I was blessed to see and capture. The last is such a lucky moment with the fawns.
Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy
Birdie
Note: If you are wondering about the slow shutter speed on the hummers, I have had to start using flash . I am in the woods and it is not a lot of light. So teaching myself how to get these with flash.

The last two are my pick Roberta. You don't have to use slow shutter speeds to use flash if your flash and camera support high speed sync AKA FP mode. You louse a little power doing this yet it can be used to freeze the action or show motion depending on the shutter speed.

I haven't used flash for birds before but another thing to consider is the t0.1 duration of your flash, which is usually slowest at full power. My godox ad200 has a t0.1 time of 1/220 at full power so with a shutter speed of 1/250 it is not able to fully freeze the action.

Thanks Morris. yes, I know . the flash does have HSS. I am just trying to find what works best under the dark circumstances I had. I also was trying to reduce the heavy flash look and keep the iso low since I do have to crop these fairly heavily and the noise can be an issue for under exposing and heavy cropping on a 61 megapixel file.

Birdie, great compositions on all. Love the flower BG color of #2 and the pose of #1. The fawns are great.
Much appreciated Ted ! I still find hummers my favorite subject. I go into hummer withdrawal when they leave.

Oh, yes that recycle 1second seems like an eternity. I don’t mind not freezing the wings, but I fully understand it is not what some want.
