Hi all,
I'm selling my Canon Serenar 5cm f2 LTM lens. This is an exciting one for Canon Rangefinder collectors! Less than 2,000 made.
This is a really nice example of Canon's first post-war standard lens. This is also an uncommon variant that stops down to f16, both the previous and later variants of this lens stop down to f11.
This lens was serviced in 2025 or 2026.
Cosmetically this lens shows some honest wear but remains a really nice example.
Mechanically the focus is very smooth and light. The aperture is working really nice. One thing to note for Leica M shooters --- this lens is somewhat picky with LTM adapters, and won't fully seat on some of them, but otherwise mounts perfectly on every Barnack Leica or Canon rangefinder I own.
Optically this is a really nice example. No haze, fungus, or scratches. There are some bubbles (see photo) in the front doublet that do show up in the bokeh on digital.
Included is a brass rear cap and vintage daylight filter.
