A few images of ruby throated hummingbirds from Eagles Mere PA. The second image is my favorite. Lots of fun photographing over 8 hummingbirds fighting over 4 feeders and several plants.

Note that all of these are crops but of similar in degree of cropping. Image 3 and 5 might be some motion blur as they were moving quickly. Even 1/2000 might not have been enough. Image 4 looks soft, but I think it is more a depth of field issue. The plane of focus is right in front of the eyes and there it is sharp. But in general, I there appears to be a slight drop of in IQ with the 1.4x. Not too surprised.

My mother's Italian family lived in Kennett Square for 70 years..My mother went to West Chester College.
Again SUPER photography! The bokeh of this lens is fantastic!

Small world! Southern Chester County PA is a great area.
Yes, the bokeh of the new Sony 100-400 f/4.5 is very nice. I much prefer it to the Sony G tele zoom lenses bokeh which can be busy.
