I got a new scanner the other day and have been busy digitizing some old slides. This one was actually shot by my dad, who was a career pro photographer -- a lot of his work is archived at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
This is a photograph of my two daughters and every time I look at it, my heart melts. The oldest daughter in the image is now a mother of eight children, and a grandmother of eight grandchildren -- life is short.
Photography freezes precious slices of it.

Yes Greg, it sure is, and I'm so happy that we continue to have newer and better resources to preserve those images!
For me, a photograph should invoke an emotional connection, a sense of story, or a visual curiosity that makes the viewer pause. Because photography is a visual language, its ultimate goal is to make the viewing public feel, think, or react rather than just look. Be it just one person..you made that connection and your goal of being a photographer has been fulfilled of its core premise.
Introspection is a gift, and art, an emotion. The emotional resonance you display here is astounding in this 1 image!
You are blessed in the fact that you have a path taken before you to review.
My parents were not very photogenic. Yes there are some but very few "visual rememberances" for me to review.. Most of my viewable past life is a memory. And those memories are fleeting very fast!
Now Suzanne's family took pictures all the time. Those I have scanned and her "review" starts in the late 1800's.
Whoever took the photos was a master photographer.
Pass your legacy, and that of your childrens and children's children, on.......we are "star dust..we are golden..."
