I just updated my Q3 with the latest V4.1.1 firmware.
Now, even when turned-off in the menus, Focus Peaking stays on - even in AFS/AFC. The only way to turn it off is to depress the tiny icon on the LCD which gives the option to turn off. When the camera is turned off, then on, it starts all over. Even User Profiles will not save the desired configuration (Focus Peaking off for AF). This is more than annoying and inconvenient.
A Google search reveals information that this is a glitch in the 4.1.1 firmware.
Not seeing that here with my Q3 43 running 4.1.1. Used it all day yesterday after the update, and just double-checked it for you now too. Focus peaking only comes on for the profiles I have it on for, and turning it off manually keeps it off until I turn it back on.
I also have not experienced this since yesterday. I just double-checked now and my Q3 still working fine. So it doesn't seem to be a ubiquitous bug at least.
As it turns out, the AF/MF switch contacts on the lens became intermittent right at the time that I updated the firmware, so it was a hardware problem. I'm shipping back to Leica under warranty. Can anyone tell me what to expect in terms of turnaround time? Thanks.
